Three Ways to Eat Avocados Besides Guacamole

The consumption of avocados, savory fruits from Mexico, has grown dramatically over the past few years worldwide. Rich in nutrients, vitamins, fiber and “good” fat, avocados help you stay full longer. They are also linked to numerous health benefits. American Heart Association recommends eating an avocado daily and I am happy to do it. There are so many simple, delicious recipes that you can try besides famous guacamole. My three favorites include:

  1. Avocado Salad – the beauty of this salad is that you can put whatever you want (or have) in it with one exception: there has to be an avocado!
  2. Avocado Toast – again, avocado toast recipe has a lot of variations. Don’t be shy to experiment with different breads and toppings to make it truly yours. 
  3. Avocado Soup – a refreshing summer option or just a light meal for any other day “cooked” entirely in a blender. How awesome is that?

Instead of a BLT (bacon lettuce tomato) sandwich. Make it a BLAT ( bacon lettuce avocado tomato sandwich). It’s yummy
